Air Quality Issues and Your Kids Health

The one place where our kids spend the most time is in their own home. We owe it to our children as responsible parents to make sure the home is safe from environmental hazards. Open containers of caustic cleaning chemicals, formaldehyde, and allergy causing mold growth are common, so for the sake of your health and your kids health you must know what is in your air.

MOLD

Mold growing in your home could be responsible for your kid’s health problems, especially if they are allergic reaction. Our own negligence could be making our children sick. Mold could be growing hidden underneath the carpeting, behind baseboards, or behind drywall. In humid homes mold can grow unnoticed as a thin powdery film on the clothes in the closet. Bacteria can grow inside humidifiers in babies’ room or inside babies toys. Mold could be growing beneath your kitchen or bathroom sink, or behind your washer and dryer.

MOLD INSPECTIONS

If you have the slightest suspicion that mold is growing, or that water damage is present, then give us a call.  We’ll come out and give your home a detailed mold inspection. No inspector is guaranteed to find all mold; however, inspections is what we do for a living. Our goal is to make you aware whether a mold problem exists. If your home checks out ok, you’ll rest easier knowing you have been good, responsible parents. If we find a problem, we will let you know every step you, or a professional mold remediator, must take to have the problem fixed. You see, it’s a no-lose situation for you. When you have your home inspected for mold, you know you did your part. So why not give us a call today, for the sake of your kid’s health and your own health.

FORMADEHYDE

Did you know that formaldehyde is a commonly used man-made chemical. Exposure to formaldehyde may cause many health problems including but not limited to respiratory problems and even cancer. In March 2015 a 60 minutes news story aired nationally showing that some Chinese made flooring sold by Lumber Liquidators contained elevated levels of formaldehyde. The 60 minutes test involved sampling the actual floor materials. At A Accredited we can test the air in your home to determine the actual levels of formaldehyde in your home air. In addition to coming from floors, this chemical comes from many new building materials, fuel burning stoves, cabinets, paints, and other materials in your home.  You will know the actual levels in your air to the parts per million. We are also fully equipped to test for many other man made indoor pollutants.

ALLERGENS

Allergens from cats, dogs, rats, mice, roaches, and dust mites are more common in homes than you may think.

The prevalence of these allergen sources in homes often go unnoticed, yet their effects on us and our children can be quite dramatic. Coughing, sneezing, watery eyes, itchy throat, runny nose, and other cold like symptoms can cause misery and many missed school days in our children.

At A Accredited Mold Inspection Service we can test for allergens in your home.
