The Certified Indoor Environmental Consultant certification is one of the most difficult to obtain, and one of the most respected certifications available. Any owner, manager, or employee of a company actively engaged in the IAQ field is eligible to take the exam. However, eligible individuals must have 8 years’ experience in the field or a combination of experience and science education. Daryl Received a 96.6 on his CIEC exam in 2015.

Any owner, manager, or employee of a company actively engaged in Indoor Air Quality related disciplines can take the exam. Such individuals must meet the following minimum qualifications: A high school diploma PLUS: Either 2 years’ experience in a field related to the IAQ industry, or a post-secondary education with at least 15 science credits and also a minimum of one (1) year documented field experience conducting indoor air quality investigations is required.
